This Filipino movie has won many awards. Its closer to American indie film than a Filipino indie film. Its quite simple minded movie and easy to watch.

There are many short lgbtq movies and while scrolling through them I stumbled upon this one. It has english subtitles. Its a happy ending movie.

“This Night” recently won 7 out of 8 awards at the UE Manila Gawad Silangan 2018 Film Festival including Best Picture.
This is such an emotional end. To not be able to love someone just because others don’t think its right is heartbreaking!
A must watch movie!

5.Ek Ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga (Translation: When I saw a girl I felt like this)

Synopsis:
Sweety hides a secret about her true love and decides to marry a writer to please her father, Balbir Chaudhary.
However, chaos ensues when she decides to fight her family and society to win her love.
Review:
How often do we find people who would go out of their way to help you?
In this the writer Sahil Mirza who sweety decides to marry (instead of telling her father and rest of the family that shes not into men) is that person.
He instead of running away decides to help her.
We see how Sweety realizes as a child how she feels for her best friend (who doesn’t feel the same for her).
She then thinks shes not normal and prays everyday that god make her ‘normal’.
Fast forward to few years later she meets Kuhu and they fall in love. Both these girls are so in love but Sweety’s brother finds out and makes them breakup. Kuhu moves away to London.
Some time has passed and soon Sweety meets Sahil and he helps her come out to her family through a drama.

Review:
Kwon Nara is my celebrity crush and I was really happy to see her take on this role.
Its a nice movie. The acting is impressive and it has a bittersweet end.

Sweet story about two girls who had to break up because people are dumb and just can’t let others be.
Years later when they meet Yoo-He is dating a guy. Its a happy ending and a must watch short movie!

However things get complicated when Fah starts to develop feelings for Pii instead.

Synopsis:

Review:
I’ve watched many short movies but this one has my heart!!!
From the acting to directing the cinematography, the theme everything is perfect.
I highly recommend this 3 part short movie that includes topics of love, purpose and soulmates.
The 1st part is an introduction to the characters and how the two leads are different from each other
The 2nd part shows their relationship and how people sacrifice for the person they love even of it means they cannot be together.
The finale after the emotional 2nd part is a sweet ending to their story. They meet after years and there is No love lost.

A really nice story and most of it is in English. Two American brothers come back to Philippines and meet Felix a poor and bright student.

Extremely short 6 minutes movie, would seem like an advertisement. The movie has a comedy element.

Synopsis:
The story is about two roommates living in an all-girl dormitory. They fall in love with each other.
Review:
Mi leh is a tomboy and Xiao Rou is assumed to be straight by her friends. Theres an annoying guy who keeps on trying to date Xiao rou even though she keeps on rejecting him.
Xiao rou’s friend has a crush on this guy (unbelievable).
Xiao rou keeps on dreaming about Mi Le and finally in the end they start dating (Its actually very cute).

19. Girls Love part 2/ Wrong Sex/ Good Love part 2

Synopsis:
Part 2 continues where Part 1 left off. the story is about two roommates living in an all-girl dormitory.
They fall in love with each other. After a while their relationship is revealed to their friends and family.
The couple struggles to maintain their love despite all hardships and everyone’s disagreement
Review:
This part introduces a sort of love triangle.
(Similar to how yes or no part 1 and 2 did.. Do all 2nd parts have to have a love triangle?)
We see how Xiao Rou struggles to trust Mi Leh and because of the same annoying guy Xiao Rou’s parents find out about them.
